Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara Recall Issued Over Fuel Gauge Problem
The Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara has been recalled in India after the company found a concern linked to the fuel gauge system. The issue was found in a specific batch of units and the company has now taken a step to avoid safety risks for owners.
The recall covers thousands of SUVs sold in the Indian market. The company said the problem involves the fuel level warning light not showing the correct fuel reading in some vehicles.
Maruti Suzuki India Limited confirmed that 39,506 units of the Grand Vitara have been recalled. These units were manufactured between December 9, 2024 and April 29, 2025. As per the details shared in the filing, the fuel level warning light placed inside the speedometer may not reflect the correct amount of fuel left in the tank. This can mislead drivers and may affect safe driving.
The company stated that the recall is a preventive step. Service teams will contact all affected owners. The customers will need to visit an authorized Maruti Suzuki workshop. The technicians will check the component and replace the faulty part if needed. All the work will be completed without any cost for the customer.
The brand said it aims to complete the process at the earliest. Dealers will reach out to customers through direct communication. The company asked owners to take the recall notice seriously so that the vehicles continue to run safely on Indian roads.
Maruti Suzuki said the Grand Vitara has remained one of its strong products in the mid SUV space. The SUV is sold in petrol, CNG and strong hybrid options. The price range starts at Rs 10.77 lakh and goes up to Rs 19.72 lakh. The model also comes with an all wheel drive setup in select variants, which has helped it gain strong demand among buyers.

The recall will help Maruti Suzuki fix the faulty part on time and ensure the SUVs continue to perform as expected. The company said it values customer trust and aims to maintain safety by responding quickly to technical concerns.
