The institute was established on 25th may, 1982, to meet the emerging need of skilled diploma engineers and for the development of technical education in the distant tribal area of Chhattisgarh. The institute is located at the heart of city Ambikapur in Surguja Division. Late Mr. S.N. Awasthi was the founder principal of this college.
