Mizoram Polytechnic, Lunglei is the first Polytechnic in the state . It was established in 1981 with 60 numbers of student intake in Civil Engineering with the subsequent introduction of Electrical Engineering in 1988 and Mechanical Engineering in 1991 with an intake of 30 students and 20 students respectively.
