Sri Meenakshi Government Arts College for Women was established in the year 1965, in the temple city, Madurai, by the Government of Tamil Nadu in a sprawling campus of 20 acres to fulfill the need for upliftment of women, in and around Madurai with 320 students and 13 teaching and 13 non-teaching staff members.
