With a view to cater the needs of Technical Education in Saurashtra region of Gujarat; Morbi Technical Institute (MIT) was established in 1931. His highness, Honorable Late Lukhdhirji donated his palace, which was constructed on 40 acres of land on the banks of river Machhu for MIT in 1951.
