Government Polytechnic, Channapatna is situated in the toys town channapatna on the Bangalore-Mysore road (SH-17). It was one of the first institutions established after post independance in the year 1958. The present building was inaugurated by Sri Kamaraj, president Indian national congress and presided by Sri Lal Bahadur shastry, the Union ministers in the year 1964.
