KCNIT was established in 2002 under the aegis of Banda Education Centre in Banda, the Headquarter of “Chitrakoot Dham Mandal”, Uttar Pradesh. The air-conditioned campus of institute is approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India, New Delhi as well as Uttar Pradesh State Government. It is affiliated to Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University (APJAKTU), Lucknow .
