About GreenEnergy Technology

Green energy engineering is a new discipline of engineering that will identify solutions and disseminate new ideas for advancing the green energy approach, with essential topics such as renewable alternatives, efficient energy management, and economic interrelation. Green energy technology is a field of engineering which promotes environmental clean energy generation, conservation, and consumption through teaching and research in these fields. This branch of engineering also fosters research in solar photovoltaic, solar thermal, energy storage, fuel cells, biofuels, wind energy, ocean energy, chemical energy, nanotechnology applications for energy conversion, etc.

What is Green Energy Technology?

The programme aims to develop a scientifically and technologically trained workforce by training talented students in renewable and clean energy technologies. The course format includes hardcore and soft-core courses to substantiate academic and technical mastery of subjects through various experiences. There will also be a few bridge courses. Energy and modelling will be the focus of the majority of the first semester courses.

Energy, environment, chemistry, management, and other GET-related topics will be covered in the second and third semesters. Alternative energy sources - energy generation, distribution, and usage, green nanotechnology, combustion technology, waste to energy, and biofuels- will be explored in depth during this curriculum. Students will be able to choose courses that are appropriate for their background and interests. Each theory session will include a project that can be done individually or in groups. Students studying this course will take up research work in various core areas of green energy. This programme discusses recent breakthroughs, state-of-the-art, and advancements in the subject of green energy, where attempts are being made to increase the usability of energy systems while lowering their environmental impact.

The course intends to provide knowledge and discussion points to researchers, professors, engineers, advanced students and a platform for future developments in green energy. There will be a discussion of both theoretical and practical elements. There are several demonstrations and mathematical calculations, as well as practical on-the-field applications.

Eligibility and Career in Green Energy Technology

The eligibility to pursue this technology field is an undergraduate engineering degree in either of Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Chemical or Biotechnology field from a reputed institution. Students with a masters in science degree in Physics, chemistry, nanoscience, mathematics or material science are also eligible to pursue this course. The course of green energy technology is of a duration of 2 years spread into four semesters. After the completion of the course, students are awarded a post-graduate degree in this field.

A green energy career can be affected by activities like energy conservation, alternative energy development, pollution reduction, or recycling. Employment in developing and using energy sources such as solar, wind, geothermal, and biomass are included. Traditional, non-renewable energy sources are also included in this sector, undergoing considerable green technology advancements (e.g., oil, coal, gas, and nuclear).

Green-energy employment prospects have increased, including solar, wind, geothermal, biofuels, and hydropower. Research and development are underway, a large-scale capability grows, and real-world application of renewable energy technologies is becoming more common.
