Thus, it helps in relating and supplying technological knowledge to socio-economic needs to address the growing industry demands and present societal needs.

What is Infrastructure Engineering and Management?

Engineering in infrastructure and construction management is a master program of two years that cost-effectively aims at planning and execution for quality infrastructure development. It also includes the processes that help in maintaining and operating developed construction for sustainability. Infrastructure engineering and management involve several operations and events such as infrastructure economics, infrastructure management system, infrastructure planning, condition assessment and procedures, optimal maintenance management, assets valuation and utilization, reliability of infrastructure system, and better infrastructure under risk and uncertainty. The infrastructure engineering and management course create trained decision-makers and professional managers who can efficiently apply the advanced techniques for construction and infrastructure management with the sustainability of the environment. The program is designed in a way that helps students to acquaint themselves with the techno-managerial facets related to the development of infrastructure projects. This post-graduation program is of two years divided into four semesters. The first two semesters, students get advanced knowledge about infrastructure engineering and management.

In contrast, in the last two semesters, students get an opportunity to do their research or thesis work on various projects and challenges that emerge in infrastructure development. The advanced course in this program covers important topics such as public and private partnerships (PPPs), economic and financial analysis of infrastructure projects, planning and management of infrastructure projects, political and social perspectives of infrastructure planning, equipment management, and construction management. After completing this course, students get in-depth knowledge of comprehensive management tactics and tools that can be used to create the world's most magnetic and rewarding industries. Interested candidates can pursue further studies like M. Phil., PhD, and research, which generally rotate around infrastructure system models in planning, construction management, system dynamics modelling, and automated techniques with information technology.
