Sandwich Technical (Production Engineering) is a relatively young engineering speciality. It is a blend of manufacturing technology, mechanical expertise, and design. Production engineering is the process of designing, controlling, and improving integrated systems to offer consumers high-quality goods and services in a timely and cost-effective manner. Manufacturing engineering and industrial engineering have a lot in common with production engineering. A production engineer is in charge of several aspects of a factory setting. A production engineer must be efficient in calculating the yield and cost-effectiveness of the manufacturing process. First and foremost, he must consider the product's design, quality, and viability. He is responsible for overseeing the production process once the product design has been finished. Other responsibilities include improving production procedures on a timely basis, incorporating quality throughout the manufacturing process, and resolving any issues during production. What is Production Engineering (Sandwich)?

Two six-month internships are available as part of the Production Engineering Sandwich course. 90% of the theoretical subjects are comparable to those in the Mechanical Engineering program. Topics like Production and Industrial Management, which provide a lot more value to the Engineering education, make up the remaining 10% of subjects. In theory, there isn't much of a difference between the two courses. Internships offered in the Production Engineering program, on the other hand, bring a lot more value and help students become technically proficient before they even graduate! Some of the study subjects are Mathematics, mechanics, Production Planning and Control, Strength of Materials, Metal Forming - Principles & Design, Engineering Thermodynamics, CAD and CIM, Material Science, Facility Planning and Material Handling, Manufacturing Technology and Industrial Management.

Eligibility and Career in Production Engineering (Sandwich)

Candidates must have passed Class 12th with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics with a minimum of 60% aggregate marks to pursue an engineering degree in production engineering (Sandwich). Candidates interested in pursuing a master’s degree in production engineering(Sandwich) should have a Bachelor's degree in a comparable field with a minimum of 50% aggregate. Manufacturing organizations have a lot of employment openings for production engineers.
