Biometric security plays a vital role in raising the Edwards layer of cybercrimes. It is a unique type of technology that identifies your biology and behaviour, but it may seem to be foolproof. However, biometric identity has made it very cautious about using stand-alone Authentication. It can be said as security which is done on biometrics. Cyber security is a study to identify threats and vulnerabilities in systems, either hardware or software. To determine the cybercrime, you must be enhanced with the developing skills for implementing the high technology solution for defending your system against hacking or any malware.

What is Engineering in Bio Metrics & Cybersecurity?

Biometrics and cyber security are the two major fields to defend your system from foreign hacking and malware. Therefore biometrics are used to protect your system through your biological fingerprints and help you in defending your data from cybercrimes. Biometric works on fingerprint mapping and also on facial recognition to secure your data. Researchers also claimed that the way someone behaves and sits and works, unique body orders, the vein of one’s hand, and even the facial structure and expressions are considered unique identifiers for biometrics.

There are three types of biometric security:

1. Biological Biometric: It includes your genetic traits and molecular levels. Biological biometrics also includes DNA or blood, which can be identified through a sample of your body's fluid.

2. Morphological biometrics: it includes the structure of your body likely to be physical traits, including your eye, retina, the shape of an ear, the structure of your face, and your fingerprints used for mapping the security scanners.

3. Behavioural biometrics: they work on a unique pattern for each individual. The pattern includes how you walk, speak, or even type on the keyboard. These all patterns can be considered as the indication of your security for biometrics.

Biometric security works on the indication of individuals' genetic traits and its physical characteristics or genetic characteristics. Even if the case of twins arises, biometric counts them as two different individuals as every individual has its own and unique biometric identity, which cannot be replaced by that twin even. Once the biometric data is obtained and saved for mapping, it is saved, which future attempts close access purposes and protect your data from cybercrime. Biometric is a great option for cyber security as it works upon biometric scanners used to capture all the biometric verification, a particular individual. These scans older restore an individual's data, and after matching the scanning properties, they allow access to the system.

Eligibility and Career in Engineering in Bio Metrics & Cybersecurity

One should be eligible for pursuing biometrics and cyber security engineering:

Candidate must be passed from 10 + 2 from a recognized board made a minimum score of 50% from PCM as a compulsory subject (basic qualification). As it is a PG degree, you must be qualified for graduation with at least 60% from a recognized university. You must be a graduate under the UG course of B.Tech.
