Intelligent sensing, communication, and network technology study sensor devices with in-depth knowledge of designing, development, and management of communication systems.

About Smart Sensing Communication and Networking Technologies

In the last few decades, the electronic sector, incredibly remote sensing, the internet of things (IoT), and telecommunication have seen extensive growth that helped make humans more accessible with time. Intelligent sensing, communication, and network technology study sensor devices with in-depth knowledge of designing, development, and management of communication systems. It can be referred to as the application of working principles of technology for the development and management of next-generation mobile networks (5G/6G), IoT systems, intelligent systems, wireless communication systems, smart antennas, cloud edge computing, modern radar system, security system, machine learning with programmable networks and devices that results in the making of intelligent societies.

What is Smart Sensing Communication and Networking Technologies?

Engineering in Smart sensing, communication, and network technology is a two-year program designed to impart essential knowledge and necessary skills to graduates who are required to work in all aspects of communication and networking systems. It enables students with a multidimensional approach and innovative skills in wave communication, intelligent sensing, computer science, communication network, and procedures. The primary objective of this course is to create well-trained professionals with a more profound knowledge of sensor design, IoT systems, calibration, fabrication, characterization, interfacing, and application to the internet of things. The course covers a vast range of topics such as wireless devices and networks, antennas and propagation, networking aspects of IoT, sensor device program, mobile device programming, simulation and performance evaluation, communication system, and measurements with advanced computational methods. This program is framed in a way that evenly emphasizes both theoretical as well as practical knowledge. On completing this course, students will be able to work not only in sensing, communication network, and system sector but in domains such as environment monitoring, smart agriculture, healthcare, transportation, and industrial IoT.

Eligibility and Career in Smart Sensing Communication and Networking Technologies

As mentioned earlier, Engineering in Smart sensing, communication, and network technology is a post-graduation program with a specialization in the communication field, approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi. It comprised a total of six semesters and two years. To take admission in this program, candidates are required to fulfil some eligibility criteria: the candidate must have passed graduation in engineering or technology or any relevant stream with a minimum of 50% marks. Candidates who are in the final semester can also apply for this course. Candidates should have a valid GATE or any equivalent exam score to get selected for this course. As sensor systems, communication networks, and systems have burgeoning demand. Therefore, several job opportunities are up for grabs. A skilled professional candidate in this field can get a job in both government and private sectors. After completing the course, students can design, produce, and manage communication networks and systems, radar systems, develop advanced ICT applications, etc. Skilled professionals may be readily employed in various industries such as system operators and manufacturers, radio system operators, system integrators and consulting companies, developers, and providers of ICT applications and services.
