What is Opto Electronics & Communication Systems?

Opto Electronics and communication system is a branch related to the study and application of electronic devices that generate, detect and control light commonly, considered a subset of photonics. Opto Electronic Systems and equipment such as ultraviolet sensors, photodiodes and LEDs are designed and developed by Opto Electronics Engineers. Some electronic engineering combines optical engineering and electronic engineering in the design of this system and equipment. They conduct, research, analyze, test equipment, and oversee research. Optoelectronic devices range from optical to electrical or electrical to optical transducers or tools that use such appliances in their operation. This course includes a detailed study of lasers Optical Fibre Communication, Laser Material Processing, Medical applications, Optical Neural networks. The Program provides the student with a solid foundation for understanding the physics and technology of communication systems and modern networking along with training. The students can quickly enter the corporate world by undertaking Industrial visits and Industry live projects, Electives and Soft skill training.

Eligibility and Career in Opto Electronics & Communication Systems

This is a relatively new and technologically advanced field. India presents a large market for Opto Electronics. Still, it is primarily available overseas due to the few Indian companies involved in research and production in this particular sector offering significant growth opportunities in the future. It is the right time to enter it. By the time one completes their course, the Indian market will be full of job opportunities in this field. The candidate must have 55% or more (English) and 60% or more (Aggregate English) with a science stream in +2.  The candidate must have a Bachelor's degree in B.Tech or B.E (with a background in Optics and Electromagnetic theory) and have a Master's Degree in Physics.
