About VLSI and Microsystems

VLSI and microsystem introduce the basic concept of semiconductor devices, VLSI fabrication, manufacturing processes, microsystem, micromachining, microfabrication techniques and advantage miniaturisation. This specialisation is established as a state of the art facility is related to diverse dimensions in the field of instrumentation engineer in biomedical microelectronics.

The ultimate goal of this domain is to foster a higher quality of education with an equivocal focus in theory and practical areas of Electronics, control and Instrumentation Engineering, biomedical engineering and microelectronics and microsystem so that it ensures the dissemination of knowledge reaches the stockholders and forge the opening of the fresh flair of human resources. The course is designed to nurture higher echelons of technologies to participate in education, innovative and collaborative research to bring out international standards.

What is VLSI and Microsystems?

VLSI and microsystem courses are designed to create a knowledge society in design fabrication and characterisation of the success of the microelectromechanical system microsensor and microactuators by introducing area simulation toolset and microfabrication technologies. The outcome of this program is to make the students will be able to understand the basic concept of Microsystem Technologies and interdisciplinary field theory related to technologies used to fabricate Nano to micro-scale devices and the system on a chip that embed electrical, mechanical, chemical and Hybrid mechanisms to realise device and system for a broad array of application success physical sensor, biomedical system, Complex multifunctional Nano microsystems. Students getting into the field are trained to support the Indian electronic industry to develop advanced and indigenous microsystems for the modern society and make them Nanoelectronicircuits and a Nanoelectromechanical system for the future World.

This stream makes the students understand the fundamental scientific principle governing semiconductor electronics devices, modelling of such devices and their incorporation in modern Integrated circuits and provide knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing process is to utilise the thin-film processing methods to fabricate and packaging electronic components, communication devices, and micromechanical devices along with this make the students to und and the importance of a process of our device is Nanoelectromechanical employment areas available for engineers belong to this field.

Eligibility and Career in VLSI and Microsystems

To pursue this course engineering in this stream, students must have minimum marks of 50 per cent in the 10+2 examination from the recognised board. An aggregated percentage of the mark in the qualifying examination should not be less than 45 % for candidates belonging to the SC-ST groups. The Eligible percentage varies according to the colleges. This is one form of getting admission merit-based system.

Another form of getting engineering admission in this field entrance based admission in this candidate must have to fulfil the basic requirements of the examination that means a student should pass with minimum aggregated not for the 60% aggregated marks in that particular academic year after that are eligible for an engineering degree in top colleges of India. This domine has a great job scope in the future the graduates from this field can work with various job types.
