BIG DATA ANALYTICS

  • 9 Colleges

None

As a primary objective, the program aims to impart training to enrolled students with regard to existing and evolving techniques and theories related to Big Data, which include statistics, data mining, data warehousing and data visualization. This course is oriented towards Data Science and related aspects.

Big Data Analytics

Big Data Analytics helps organization harness their data and use it to identify new opportunities. It leads to smarter business moves, more efficient operations, higher profits and more satisfied customers. Big Data Analytics examines large amounts of data to uncover hidden patterns, correlations and other insights. The discipline’s applications enable Data Scientists, Predictive Modellers, and other analytics professionals to analyse growing volumes of structured transaction data.

How to Join

One who wants to join Big Data Analytics should pass the qualifying examination with an aggregate score of 55% in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. After completing the same, the student has to appear for the Joint Entrance Exam Main (JEE - Main) to get admission into one of the top colleges or universities in India.

Most of the engineering colleges in India offer admission to students based on the JEE Main examination. It is a national level entrance examination done by the National Testing Agency (NTA) in India.

Graduate Aptitude Test (GATE) is the national level entrance examination for admission to postgraduate courses by the IITs and IISc in India. Admission to these institutions is offered based on the score secured in GATE by the candidate.

All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) is the national level apex authority responsible for the regulation and control of all engineering colleges and courses available in India. AICTE is the statutory authority responsible for proper planning and coordination on the development of the technical education system in India.

Career Prospects

Web crawlers and in-house Data Scientists are needed today in almost every industry, for purposes like the collection of data from internal and publicly available data sources.

Adequate skills and experience are needed in industries for tasks like a machine- learning, computing and design of algorithms to create customized ETL tools to extract data from multiple sources/ IT platforms and to load them directly to data structures hosted in the cloud. Big Data technologies such as Hadoop, Mongo DB etc. are crucial for integrating both structured and unstructured data for clients to derive accurate insights from a given comprehensive set of data points.
