About Industrial Electronics

Industrial electronics is a branch that deals with the equipment, tools, and procedures that use electrical technology in a manufacturing environment. This manufacturing environment could be a laboratory, a manufacturing plant, a power plant, or a building site, among other things. Chemical processing plants, oil/gas/petroleum plants, mining and metal processing units, electronics, and semiconductor production require industrial electronics. To put it in another way, this field of technology refers to the power electronic devices such as meters, sensors, resistors, thyristors, scopes, timers, among other things. As a result, industrial electronics study electronic equipment that uses a lot of power and voltage.

What and Industrial Electronics?

This program is designed for students who want to work with cutting-edge electronic, computer, and control technology. In this course, concepts of Control systems, instrumentation, mechanism and diagnosis, signal processing, and automation of numerous industrial applications are all covered in depth. Electrical power machine designs, power conditioning, and power semiconductor devices are fundamental research areas in industrial electronics. Students will be encouraged to carry out their research on these topics. The design and maintenance of simple electrical fuses to complex programmable logic controllers, solid-state devices, and motor drives are all covered by industrial electronics. All forms of current electrical and mechanical industrial processes can be automated with industrial electronics. Variable frequency converter and inverter drives, human-machine interfaces, hydraulic positioners, and computer or microprocessor-driven robotics are all examples of specialty equipment used in industrial electronics. The course provides students with the opportunity to practice industrial engineering through a basic training module that provides a strong scientific foundation for industrial electronics and control systems engineering. It includes a specific training module in industrial electronics and control systems engineering that allows students to practice the numerous abilities required in various electrical engineering disciplines and a final module that will enable students to improve the skills they choose. The course prepares students to manage a wide range of industries and activities in industrial electronics and control systems engineering, as well as to do measurements, computations, evaluations, appraisals, research, and reports in that sector.

Eligibility and Career in Industrial Electronics

For a degree in industrial electronics, the eligibility criteria include passing of 10+2 board examination with a minimum of 50% marks. The course will be a diploma course. There are many job opportunities for students graduating with a diploma in this particular course. Some of the job profiles include Technologist, Assistant Director, Electrician Technician, Marketing Web Technologist, Instrumentation and Controls Technologist, etc. Companies like Makeb Technology, Trimble Navigation Limited, Ecosys efficiencies Pvt Ltd, etc., hire students with a diploma in this field. Companies that offer work opportunities in industrial process control systems, robotics devices, communications systems, and complex instrumentation hire these graduates for the design, testing, installation, and troubleshooting processes. Companies expect candidates to design, program, and manage facility equipment, model and simulate systems and maintain industrial processes and structures.
