About Automation

Automation means minimizing the human input in the completion of a technological process. Various software is used in automation engineering to automate the construction and implementation of technology to handle product and service production and delivery. This aids in the faster and more efficient development of products and allow different engineers to work parallelly. Automation engineers are required to provide design specifications. They are responsible for eliminating any bugs and quality issues in the product. They need to identify various opportunities to automate various processes. Almost every manufacturing company requires automation engineers to design and simulate automated processes. The need and application of automation have rapidly increased these days. Almost every company is automating the customer care facilities. Most businesses have automated chatbots to help a user with their issues. Through automation, you can now set a new ATM pin, book tickets, solve your query, etc. Some of the recent developments in the field have made it more efficient and reliable. These manufacturing operations can operate 24x7 and are quicker and more efficient than humans will ever be. Automation has also expanded machine vision, thus making the products capable of reaching or detecting areas or errors impossible by a naked eye.

What is Automation?

The program mainly focuses on providing hands-on experience and theoretical knowledge in automation to the students. It provides in-depth and advanced knowledge to become professional. It will teach to apply engineering principles, numerical methods, and advanced software tools to manage automation systems effectively. It aims to train students to carry out innovative and independent research work. The course will prepare the students to exhibit professionalism, integrity, effective communication skills, and environmental and social responsibility. The course equips the students with practical and theoretical knowledge in the area of automation engineering. Students will be capable of identifying, analyzing, and solving complex problems and solve them by using advanced techniques and in-depth knowledge. They will be able to conduct independent research and generate new and innovative solutions for the benefit of society. There are different courses for this field at different colleges. But they mostly revolve around mechanics, design, and computers. The most common courses are Networking, applied mathematics, applied physics, applied chemistry, Introduction to Computers, Electronics, engineering mechanics, thermal and electrical sciences, etc. Students are taught Machine design to design automation products.

Eligibility and Career in Automation

Passed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, Physics with min 50% aggregate marks. Entrance exams to qualify: JEE Main, JEE Advanced, VITEEE, or other engineering college exams. To be an automation engineer, a bachelor's degree in computer science, IT, or a similar field is required. Most companies prefer students with a Master's degree as well. Manufacturing companies are gradually approaching automation processes. Therefore, there is a lot of demand for automation engineers in the market. They are expected to have rapidly increasing job prospects in the coming years.
