Master of Engineering (ME) in VLSI (Very Large Scale Integration) Design is a Postgraduate course in the domain of electronics engineering with a specialization in the field of VLSI based circuit design. The course is divided into four semesters spanning over a duration of two years.

VLSI Design

The course structure is designed to provide domain-specific skills and knowledge to the master’s level students so as to equip them with a holistic knowledge of the VLSI based Integrated circuit design in a manner that they are able to persecute the learning in the practical sense.

VLSI design has become an important aspect of the electronics industry in contemporary times. Most of the electronics items that we see in our day to day life like LCD monitors, TVs, Smartphones, Laptops, etc are based on Integrated Circuits (IC) based design. The design of these IC circuits is in turn based on the practical application of the knowledge of the VLSI design.

How to Join

One who wants to join Applied Electronics should pass the qualifying examination with an aggregate score of 50% in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. After completing the same, the student has to appear for the Joint Entrance Exam Main (JEE - Main) to get admission into one of the top colleges or universities in India.

Most of the engineering colleges in India offer admission to students based on the JEE Main examination. It is a national level entrance examination done by the National Testing Agency (NTA) in India.

All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) is the national level apex authority responsible for the regulation and control of all engineering colleges and courses available in India. AICTE is the statutory authority responsible for proper planning and coordination on the development of the technical education system in India.
