The Diploma of Electronic Manufacturing and Maintenance (DEPM) course is one of the most popular and sought-after three-year courses in 1987 to prepare young students to become production supervisors/ maintenance or design assistants in electronics or related industries or entrepreneurs. Electronics market worth $ 118 billion in 2019-20 segmented into mobile (24%), home electronics (22%), strategic electronics (12%), computer hardware (7%), LED (2%), and industrial electronics (34%), including Automotive, Medical and other industrial electronics. People working in this sector have deep knowledge about the small chips and microprocessors used in smart devices. Everything that we see in a smartphone or any peripheral device used in the computer are all electronics. The raw material used in the manufacture of these products is the semimetals or the metalloids, basically silicon, because the flow of electricity can be maintained at any required level. The role of manufacturing equipment is important to ensure the quality and functionality of all electronics and components. An electronic device's overall processing life cycle undergoes a variety of manufacturing equipment, from printed circuit boards (PCBs) to complete electronic devices. Depending on the changing application requirements, electronic devices and circuit boards must also be developed in various shapes, shapes and sizes. The complexity of assembly and the miniaturization of electric components increase the need for advanced equipment for the manufacturing process. Technological advancements, necessary to meet high-performance expectations in the electronics industry, combine with today's high-speed manufacturing, full process automation and rigorous quality assurance standards.

ELIGIBILITY AND CAREER IN ELECTRONICS PRODUCTION AND MAINTENANCE

Electronics is a field with a lot of career options to choose from. These can range from the installation of the system from the work of a draftsman to the work of an electronic engineer. You will need to have great attention to detail and have good communication skills when working in teams with other professionals. Electronics engineers are responsible for the design, development, and conduct of research on various electrical systems and their components. You can work in various industries in this role, including scientific, military, or commercial companies. Field technicians are responsible for completing regular maintenance at the location where the electronic equipment is installed. One can go for Diploma in Electronic Manufacturing and Maintenance after passing out class 10th or have a deeper knowledge and experience undergraduate course would be much required.
