The specialization course focuses on areas such as the food industry, pharmaceutical company, petrochemical industry, waste and fuel treatment, and pollution control systems. Bioprocess engineering may include the work of mechanical, electrical, and industrial engineers wherein they apply principles of their respective disciplines to processes based on living cells or sub-component of such cells.

How to Join

One who wants to join Signal Processing should pass the qualifying examination with an aggregate score of 50% in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. After completing the same, the student has to appear for the Joint Entrance Exam Main (JEE - Main) to get admission into one of the top colleges or universities in India.

Most of the engineering colleges in India offer admission to students based on the JEE Main examination. It is a national level entrance examination done by the National Testing Agency (NTA) in India.

All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) is the national level apex authority responsible for the regulation and control of all engineering colleges and courses available in India. AICTE is the statutory authority responsible for proper planning and coordination on the development of the technical education system in India.

Career Prospects

Graduates for Bioprocess Technology is needed in industries involved with the research, development, innovation and manufacture of biomaterials such as vaccines, enzymes, antibiotics, food and agricultural products, and pharmaceutical supplements.

The bioprocess industries which are parts of biotechnology is also involved with the production of alternative treatments products for diseases, the creation and evaluation of safer food materials, and the formulation of biodegradable and environmental-friendly chemicals.

Most of the graduates of bioprocessing industries will also be directly involved with manufacturing, monitoring and operating equipment, preparing fermentation media and reagents, and transferring materials for operational upgrading. Some may also be involved with the scientific, technical, training and business aspects of biotechnology companies.
