Computer Science Engineering (CSE) is one of the most sought after engineering course in the engineering domain. It is an academic program which integrates the field of Computer Engineering and Computer Science. The program deals with the basics of computer programming and networking, comprises a plethora of topics related to computer and science. It includes computation, algorithms, programming languages, program design, computer software, computer hardware, etc.

Graduates who completes the course are called Computer engineers and are involved in many aspects of computing, from designing of individual microprocessors, personal/ supercomputers to circuit designing and creating software that powers them.

Computer Science Engineering course

Undergraduate and Postgraduate course in Computer Science Engineering is offered by technical institutes across India and abroad. Students who sign up for the course are made familiar with the design, implementation, and management of information system of computer hardware and software.

Students who join the course have the option to further choose amongst various specialisation like Telecommunication, web designing, computer hardware & software implementation & maintenance, etc.

How to Join

The basic eligibility criteria to pursue a Computer Science Engineering programme at the UG level is to pass the qualifying examination (10+2) from a recognized board with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as main subjects. Besides passing the qualifying examination, the candidate should have secured a minimum aggregate mark of 60% in the said subjects. The CSE aspirants should possess good analytical, critical, problem-solving skills to get a better understanding of the course at the earliest.

Most of the engineering colleges in India offer admission to students based on the JEE Main examination. It is a national level entrance examination done by the National Testing Agency (NTA) in India.

Career Prospect of Computer Engineers

The demand for computer engineers are increasing rapidly in India and abroad because of the advancements in the industry. System study, analysis, design, programming are some of the main areas which provide various probabilities to the computer science engineers to refer in their career.

Computer engineers develop computer programs for industries in general. They do analyze problems for solutions, formulate and test software using advanced technologies or simply work in teas for product development. They work as programmers, web developers or eCommerce specialists in various industries that build or use computer-based systems.

Computer Science Engineers are hired to various industries IT/Software companies, academic institutions, sales and marketing firms, journalism, editing and content, engineering firms, etc. after their course.
